Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • To manage the daily operation of the number of vessels assigned to him in accordance with ASL’s HSSEQ System.
  • Plan, manage, monitor and execute vessels repairs, dry dockings and conversions within agreed budgets. 
  • Monitor the vessels performance trend and take necessary remedial actions to optimize vessel’s operations.
  • Collection, Evaluation of Emission control / compliance data from ships and approval from relevant authorities (SEEMP / EEXI / CII).
  • Follow up class and statutory certification status, condition of class and arrange for the necessary surveys (flag state, certification for Panama Canal etc.) 
  • Visit vessels regularly (at least two times a year, in Port + Sailing), prepare visit reports and follow up with closure of deficiencies observed
  • Prepare biannual, triannual or quarterly management reports, as agreed with each Principal, for the General Manager’s approval. 
  • Maintain strict cost control of the Annual Operating Budget for each of the assigned vessels.
  • Review monthly cost control and approve monthly financial reports before sending to Technical Manager for review.
  • Actively participate in training and education of new crew and Office Staff joining ASL.
  • Assists SIRE inspection, TMSA audits

Additional Information

    Job Requirements:

  • Marine Engineer Class 1 ( Chief Engineer Unlimited ) Certificate.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Tanker experience is mandatory f Possess relevant sea-going work experience as Chief
  • Engineer with minimum class 1 certification with in experience in LPG / Oil tanker for a minimum 2 years.
  • Experience working as a Technical Superintendent, and preferably with tankers (LPG / Oil) would be an advantage
  • Hard-working and strong team player Possess good organizational and communication skills and hands-on.
  • Ability to travel within short notice as required
